Wednesday already!!

It's that time of the year again that just flies by and before we all know it we're sitting around feeling almost too full to eat left over triffel for brekkie and thinking about which pressie to play with and continuing eating just because it's that time of the year so we can!! [ Im sure that's not just me that feels that way every boxing day- is it?].

Today went by so fast- started early at the gym, then home to get kids up and ready for school then dropped kids at school, then home again sorted some of my never ending washing/folding/ironing pile, then just enough time to make 1 summer range vintage inspired fabric scarf, then off to the pool to watch Indy's swimming class and help the girls get their caps on and off and get changed quickly enough for Indy to give out some snakes to her class- it is getting towards the end of week 2 of swimming and as much as they all enjoy it they are now starting to show just how tired it is making them.

Then back home to make 4 more scarves, {pics to come},  then cook tea and get kids bathed and in PJ's so that the next few hours is a little easier and bedtime will hopefully happen earlier too as I have another early start tomorrow leaving home by 7:30am for work.....bring on the day I can just work from home!!!!

Sorry about dodgy phone pic this was actually taken to send to my sister to see if she like or not.
Well that's my day so far - it will now be not until at least Friday night/ Saturday morning that I can continue sewing and creating and I can almost already feel withdraw symptoms setting in- I just kinda feel happy and serene when I am making and creating.....ahhhhh

What have you been doing?

Lazy sunday afternoons......

As much as I do love lazy sunday's I had some work to do.... more bears to make

They're getting there and look quite happy on my couch.

Project no. 2 - bath mats-

these I have wanted to put together for months now so decided I would chop chop chop and just do it...the first "trial" shall stay and live with me as is a bit wonky and I do love things that are just not perfect they seem so much more "real" to me like they are more deserving to hang around some how-  more likely to not be pretentious and just fit in and be willing to help out when needed I love that!  Does anyone else get that?

Batch 2 for shop

Project 3:
More vintage inspired dresses for shop
Think Pink one is my fav...but I love the blue too...Indy has chosen a great green spotty one- I also live that one- lucky Oskar is a boy or I don't know just how many would actually make it in store.

Well that's my lot for this weekend now I'm off to have a looksie at other's bedsides...I love this game thanks again Pip!

And I'm thinking after such a productive Sunday surely I can have a lazy Monday afternoon?  xo

pips meme this weeks theme "bedside" as per pottymouthmama

My very busy but productive bedside area....hmmm hadn't actually ever stopped to think about what it looks like- a bit messy but it works well for now;

My old touch lamp for middle of the night visits from children, a stash of my fav books and mags plus an ever changing group of kiddies favs for stories in bed at night or early on weekends to give me that "little bit longer in bed" before its up to cook pancakes- Oskar's fav brekkie on a Sunday.  And a spare pillow beside bed for such an occasion so I don't end up getting up with a crook neck.  A lot of planning and gathering seems to have gone into this space.

I also have a ritual of lip balm after brushing teeth before sleeping?

Mix of notebooks for all the best ideas that come to you in the middle of the night- one for business one for home....

A fowler bowl for all my last minute jewelery removals that I really cant be bothered getting out of bed to put away and lots of spare hairbands for chucking the hair back in the morning.

My phone charging for next day or for last minute communications if hubby is working shift work.

An awesome letter/card from my daughter- makes me smile every time I read it!

And a glimpse of my hot water bottle for our cold Tassie  nights....

Whats on your bedside?

Our sleeping cat- Zac enjoying the sunshine, I wonder where Zeppelin his brother is - no doubt exploring - he seams to enjoy being out and about a bit more than Zac who is quite content to just be at home ready for all his cuddles when Indy & Oskar return home from school.

We have had more beautiful weather here yesterday and today- I cant wait to get into the garden for a play and a weed tidy up-  yesterday I spent at the show with Oskar which was a lot of fun- tiring though even though I did have a great group of kids to look after and 2 other mums to chat with.  And today I was indoors at work all day.  Another day at work tomorrow and then the weekend hooray to that I say!

How was your day?

Today was such a beautiful day in Hobart- nice and warm a great taste of summer!!

Busy day again- 3 more vintage inspired girls dresses for the shop
and 37 mr & mrs square bear fronts, ears, arms and legs cut out ready to go.... by this time the kids were on their way home with lovely hubby so I started making  dinner.

A quick visit from my mum & dad- it is always so nice to see them, they have also had busy days in their cafe, then the day was still so nice outside I thought I would get some pics of the garden....

the garden looks like an overgrown jungle during spring and summer time all of the magnolia's, maples, cherry trees and crab apples have filled out and are surrounded by big fat hellibores with equally big fat aphids sucking on them- best re- spray on weekend...

a couple of my box hedge cuttings starting to grow up in their rusty pots...

magnolia nigra - one of my fav's has such a dark flower.

this is the side garden I have been working on in bits and bobs to try to tidy it up and fill in- it is almost getting to the "picture" I have of it in my head...

Will be busy again tomorrow as I am off to the royal hobart show with Oskar's class- I hope the nice weather lasts!!!

Hope your day was as much fun as mine.

Pip's my place & your's theme- I'm playing along...

I'm playing along with Pip's Meme, over at Meet me at mike's. The idea is 'My Place & Yours, what a great idea I love home inspired things and also the inspiration of what my fellow home makers are doing, so I'll be playing along each Saturday, want to join in? The first theme is "on the shelf".

My shelf:

Well this is really my dining table but hey I figure it works and I do like the blur of the pic- that's my budding photographer little miss 8 - and I so love cherry blossoms....and left overs from a crafting afternoon with my littlies.

Top of bookshelf in our room

Teenage sons shelf of skateboard decks

My studio/workshop 1/2 shelf 1/2 inspiration board

Other side of studio- my "supervisors"

Shelf upstairs with Miss 8's art work- I love my kids art!

What's on your shelf?

Birthday bags...new instore soon

We have had a rush of little ladies birthdays and wanted something nice to put the pressies in so Indy & I came up with this idea- I do love them as did the little ladies who received them- oh and their mums and aunties also- so I have been making a few more for the store.... we hope you like them as much as we do :)
